Bryant Sanderson at CHS Hedging said, “50% tariffs on steel and aluminum from Canada are not to go into effect today after Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick talked with Ontario Premier Doug Ford. Ford said he was pausing the surcharge on electricity exports to Michigan, New York, and Minnesota after their discussion. The US tariffs on steel and aluminum from the EU for 25% go into effect today. The EU said they would impose 25% tariffs on up to $28 billion of US goods in April.”
