Dave Ripplinger, NDSU bioenergy/bioproduct specialist, said there has been a significant decline in truck freight this year throughout the country, and that affects biofuels.
“There is some speculation we may be ending that very strong relationship between freight movements and diesel use, as diesel is the primary fuel for freight in the U.S., both for trucks and rail,” Ripplinger said at the November NDSU Agricultural Market Situation and Outlook Webinar.
