The Rolla Chamber of Commerce welcomes visitors to the small town and community of Rolla on this bale of hay. This year, North Dakota has a top 10 finalist for Model of Excellence – Rolla FFA – an amazing achievement.

The Rolla FFA chapter will be presenting its application and body of work during the year on the main stage at the FFA national convention. A Model of Excellence finalist, Rolla reached finalist status by embracing and demonstrating growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture.

Rolla FFA advisor/ag educator William Fritz said the chapter was “incredibly honored” to be recognized as a Model of Excellence finalist at the National FFA Convention.

Golden Valley County’s premier chapter application, headed to the National FFA Convention, includes their many community and school service commitments. They had a geocaching day where FFA students hid prizes in location from GPS. They filled backpacks with snacks for kids left alone after school until their parents returned from work and read to elementary kids. They had a “Thankful Thursday” where they passed out sticky notes to put on lockers to brighten someone’s day or to thank someone for a kindness.
