Headline inflation, which includes food and energy, has dropped significantly to 3-3.5 percent, while core inflation has remained steady at around 4 percent, according to Bryon Parman, North Dakota State University (NDSU) Extension agricultural finance specialist.

Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said in a direct quote, “As long as inflation doesn’t rebound and stay elevated, he believes the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) will be able to lower the target range for the federal funds rate this year.”
