As 2025 begins, the canola market continues to face a tightening supply situation while soybeans continue to be ample. The December report from Agriculture & Agrifood Canada lowered the projected ending stocks of canola in Canada significantly for 2024-25. Ending stocks are now projected to be 1.25 million metric tons (MMT), down 43 percent from the prior month’s estimates of 2.2 MMT and the lowest in 12 years. Exports and crush were left unchanged at 7.5 MMT and 11.5 MMT, respectively.
