European farmers are celebrating a huge win as the European Union banned Brazilian beef and poultry as of Sept. 3. The move was taken due to a lack of assurances concerning health and welfare regulations. The European Commission cited the main concerns were regarding Brazil’s compliance with EU rules on antibiotic use in livestock, which has effectively seen beef, poultry, eggs and honey banned.
