Austin Schroeder at Barchart.com said, “Live cattle futures were busy rallying to new highs, with contracts up $2.05 to $2.37 at the close. Preliminary open interest was up 2,945 contracts. Cash activity thus far has been limited so far this week.” The Hightower Report said, “Brazil’s beef imports to the U.S. are down 60% since April as Trump and the Brazilian president spar over trade. August liquidation continued yesterday but open interest still rose 3,000 contracts on live cattle indicating fearless new buyers are still moving into the market.”
