Austin Schroeder at Barchart.com said, “Live cattle futures settled the Tuesday session with 60 to 85 cent gains across most nearby contracts. Early week cash action has mostly been compiling show lists. Last week’s cash trade was mostly $199 in the South and North trade at $199-200. Feeders were Tuesday’s bullish leaders, up another $1.75 to $2 at the session close.” The Hightower Report said “Compared to the feeder cattle rally this week, live cattle’s performance has been underwhelming, and daily trading volume yesterday was at the low end of the last 45 days. Buying enthusiasm seems to be lacking and this may be a sign this upside correction will fall short of initial targets.”
