Wet conditions continue to cause delays across the region. Operations chopping corn are struggling to wrap up as the crop quickly dries down, while operations that need to be combining are struggling to get started. Overall, the number of corn acres harvested remains very small, and I haven't seen a single bean field harvested yet. This is not where we would expect to be going into October. Unfortunately, the week ahead offers little relief. The weather is obviously going to make an already stressful time of year much worse. I've heard about a lot of farm accidents recently — please keep your head on a swivel and stay safe out there.
