It’s that time of year where we start seeing an increase in combine fires as the rains miss and we stretch some service intervals to stay ahead of the low-moisture beans. Unfortunately, a couple of neighbors had two major combine fires over the weekend. All involved got out safe. Seeing these events just across the field is a solemn reminder that what we do can be dangerous and a costly endeavor. Be safe out there as we reach the finish line of the harvest season! Several are now cutting their double-crop beans, and most have been able to wrap up their wheat with the dry window. We “should” see some much-needed rain by mid-week.
