Hot and dry is the best way to describe the current crop conditions. Temps in the upper 90s all week made it miserable to work in. Some scattered showers rolled through the area but were very hit and miss. Two- to seven-tenths fell across our farms late Saturday night followed by more light showers Tuesday, giving us another one- to three-tenths. Grateful for the showers, but we need a good soaking couple inches. A lot of the corn is going to be pollinating this week, and the early-planted beans are setting a lot of pods as they are at the R3 growth stage. Some decent chances of rain mid-week. Praying they materialize for us.
