The April 21 North Dakota Crop Planting Progress Report shows that two percent of the canola has been planted in the state, while Montana has planted three percent of its canola crop. Planting has taken place mainly in southwest and southcentral parts of the state while Montana has seen activity in the northeast. While just starting, the canola planting progress is ahead of the five-year average.
