The ideas came in a flurry this past May; experience told me to search for a notepad. There’s one on the kitchen counter, one in the front pocket of the flannel-lined shirt hanging from my coat tree, one on my nightstand, one on the plant stand by the picture window, one in my workshop, and last but not least there’s one in the center console of my pickup truck. I keep them handy because it doesn’t take long for me to recognize the importance of recording passing thoughts that might become the muse of a written entry in a personal journal, or if one is as lucky as I, to share with folks such as you in a column piece.
