ONTARIO, Canada – At the tip of the point of land called the Arrowhead in northern Minnesota, U.S. Highway 61 crosses the Pigeon River to become Ontario Highway 61. There granite bluffs dominate Canada’s tree-covered landscape. Head north a few miles and the forests subside into farm fields as one hits the Slate River Valley. Bluffs are fewer and farther between. Cold Lake Superior stretches to the horizon a little to the east.
