Rain put a halt to combining beans here in east-central Missouri. Monday and Tuesday was great weather for combines to roll, but then rainy cloudy weather put everyone out of the fields. We received about an inch of much-needed rain but were not able to get into the fields again until Oct. 19. Not many corn fields left, and if we have a good week of dry weather lots of farmers will be towards the end of harvest! Some fertilizer is being spread but not a lot.
