Members of the Lutheran High Northeast (LHNE) FFA Chapter have been blessed this year. Last spring, the ag program received a grant and was accepted into a “Greenhouse to Cafeteria” Cohort sponsored by the Center for Rural Affairs. This grant allowed the school to purchase two hydroponic systems, which are currently growing lettuce and cucumbers in the recently built Greenhouse. Students have also raised tomatoes and potatoes in outside planters and have raised peas, beets and radishes in the greenhouse.
Last spring, students raised radishes and beets in the greenhouse. Pictured is sophomore student Charlie Clark.
