“Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!” It is almost fall in southwestern Nebraska instead of the Land of Oz, so “sniffles and sneezing and coughing, oh why?” fits the bill more appropriately, but fear of the unknown remains the same. Is it pollen, temperature swings, or back-to-school germs to blame? It happens each year, but when the first runny noses, scratchy throats and dreaded hacks appear, I always cross my fingers and hope it is just allergies. It seldom is, but maybe this is one of those years.
