Iowa auction attracts draft horse enthusiasts

Horse Auction — The Waverly Sales Company hosts nearly 500 sellers during their semi-annual four-day draft horse auction. Roughly 3,000 people attend.

WAVERLY — The Waverly draft horse auction moves fast, with several people poised around the ring ready to yell as soon as a hand starts to rise. The auctioneer’s voice blares over the loudspeaker and prices ascend for each horse that enters.
