While there is no doubt some damage has been done, extended forecasts showing a possible pattern shift for northern Brazil are bearish. The Hightower Report says some showers for this week have been taken out of the forecast but a more normal monsoon rain flow is hinted in the extended outlook for the second half of December. SLC Agricola, Brazil's largest publicly traded farming company, lowered their estimate of Brazil's bean planted area 4.8% from last month, due to the dry conditions.
