Combines in our area started soybean harvest as early as last Tuesday. We began on Thursday and had two great days of running before receiving another inch of rain. We were able to get back in the field during the weekend and are closing in on finishing soybeans. Overall yields were like or better than last year’s soybean yields, which are very solid. I found a lot of purple stains on the soybeans with minimal other concerns. Depending on whether the forecast is correct or not, we hope to start corn later this coming week.
