We got about seven-tenths of rain in a storm Saturday afternoon. Even though we had the big rain two weeks ago, we were glad to get another one. We did have 60-70 mile per hour winds in places. Crops are looking better. Escaped waterhemp is coming through and johnsongrass and awful severe deer damage. They’re chewing the corn up pretty bad this year. And we’re seeing the effects from that heavy rain — the low areas, it’s killed them from scalding and flooding. There’s some dead beans in the real low areas. We probably got 40-50 acres like that, but that’s not a big portion. But that’s the hand you’re dealt. There’s never a normal year.
