USDA Farm Service Agency acreage data reported recently shows an additional 135,000 acres were reported in states that do not show up in USDA data. Canola was planted in 365 counties this year in 29 states this year, an all-time record with acres topping 3 million. Six states that exceeded 10,000 acres of canola each are not currently surveyed or reported by the USDA. These states are South Dakota, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Oregon and Illinois.
