In our rural, sparsely settled states, us common everyday working people have a much better opportunity in meeting and becoming personally acquainted with our elected representatives, senators, and governors than those of heavily urbanized states. I have met six of our past North Dakota Governors and have met or had personal contact with one of each of Montana, South Dakota and Nevada, and the recent passing of Governor Allen Olson on Dec. 26 of last year brought back fond memories. JoAnn and I had a very unusual and rather humorous meeting and friendship with him.
