LAKE MILLS, Wis. – Scott Schneider points to each of the five buildings at Nature Link Farms, recalling when each was built. Buildings 1 and 2 were constructed in the 1970s when his parents – Dean and Carol Schneider – were producing layers for the egg market. Building 3 was constructed in 2008 as demand for cage-free eggs increased. Barns 4 and 5 were finished and ready for a new group of layers by the end of 2014. Nature Link could house 200,000 birds.
