It’s the first week of June and we are entering that crucial stage when corn initiate ear shoots and determines the number of kernel rows around the cob. With about 2 inches of rain in the last two weeks and some weather in the 80s, we should be set up for good growth.
Corn at Feikema Farms had a rough start with cool, windy weather. Recent warm days helped it grow out of it just in time for the crucial stage when it determines yield.
