Do not remove foreign bodies from feet

Hoof X-ray — On May 14, 2025, this colt was found with a fencing staple in his foot. He was very lame at the time of presentation. His owner called and sent me the above photo, wrapped the foot, and brought him in right away. Radiographs were taken. The staple was removed. The coffin was tapped. No communication was apparent. We treated like a foot abscess. As of May 27, he is feeling great and treatments have ended. Shared with owner permission; thank you!
