Matt Akins, assistant scientist and dairy-management specialist at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, works with producers and industry professionals with a specific focus on dairy-replacement-heifer management and nutrition. He collaborates closely with scientists at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service’s Institute for Environmentally Integrated Dairy Management at the UW-Marshfield Agricultural Research Station.
