This past week was one of the hottest yet. Thankfully, it broke with a couple of tenths of rain, once again. Many acres of corn are ripening fast. Silage chopping will commence in many places this week. Soybeans, both full season and double cropped, are lapping up the August moisture. Pods are filling and more continue to add. Pastures are green, and the countryside has an unusually lush look that we rarely see in August around here!
