According to Valor International, China has temporarily halted beef imports from three Brazilian meatpacking plants operated by JBS, Frisa, and Bon-Mart, citing “non-compliance” issues. Despite the suspension, Agriculture Minister Carlos Fávaro emphasized that this is a routine matter that does not impact overall trade, as over 60 Brazilian facilities remain authorized to export to China. He stated that Chinese authorities identified concerns requiring corrective adjustments, and once these measures are implemented, the affected plants will be resubmitted for verification and potential reinstatement. This follows a similar process where 12 previously suspended plants regained authorization after addressing compliance issues.
