“The cattle complex finished sharply weaker, unable to move higher after they steady opening, despite strong cash trade Friday afternoon and a slightly bullish cattle on feed report,” The Hightower Report said. “The stock market was down sharply and may have added to today’s weakness. Wildfires in northern Oklahoma and southern Kansas have burned nearly 285,000 acres and donations of hay are being accepted in areas where the grass is gone. Some cattle were killed in the fires, but we’ve not seen any official estimates at this time.”
