A mathematical model of pollen dispersal to estimate the spread of genetically modified organisms to non-modified crops has been developed. Determining how far pollen will travel is difficult, so it’s important to have estimating tools that can help minimize unintentional cross-pollination, said Rebecca Tyson, University of British Columbia at Okanagan, study co-author. Tyson collaborated with researchers from Belgium’s Université catholique de Louvain and Holland’s Delft University.
