A growing program at a Sioux Falls high school has students following food from the field to the kitchen, and maybe into a career.
Sioux Falls’ Career and Technical Education Academy FFA chapter is one of the newest in the state. The 2024-2025 school year will be the third year of the school’s FFA program.
During the 2023-2024 school year, 19 piglets were born to Barbie, a sow donated to the Sioux Falls’ Career and Technical Education Academy by Pipestone Systems. A new $1 million grant will allow the school to purchase a livestock chute and calving pen in the coming years.
