By his calculations, Jordan Uldrich’s irrigated corn is set up to yield as much as 220 bushels an acre on less than a third of the synthetic nitrogen he used to use.
Jordan Uldrich applies his own mix of foliar fertilizer to some pretty tall corn. He’s expecting yield potential of 220 bushels per acre with as little as 35 pounds of applied nitrogen.
Uldrich mixes a field’s worth of foliar feed for corn. His mix includes liquid chicken manure concentrate, diesel exhaust fluid and molasses.

Jordan Uldrich is a fifth generation on his Fillmore County farm, working with his dad and brother to raise conventional corn, soybeans, milo and rye and a small beef herd. He has adopted regenerative practices, including interseeding cover crops and rotational grazing. Jordan is a board member and has one of the demonstration-education sites for the Nebraska Soil Health Coalition.
