The Hightower Report said, “Live cattle closed lower yesterday while feeders were higher. Cattle open interest dropped a sharp 7400, most of which came out of the June contract. Cargill announced a lockout at their Fort Morgan, Colorado beef plant after their labor contract was rejected by the union. The lockout affects 1700 workers, but cattle are being shifted to slaughter at other Cargill plants in the region.”
