The Hightower Report said, “A tight range in wheat overnight after yesterday’s selloff and tomorrow’s supply and demand report is not expected to hold any major surprises. Ending stocks are anticipated to rise slightly to 722 million bushels, up from 717 in September and world stocks are not anticipated to change much either. One important news item overnight was a news report Lithuania is planning to push for an EU ban on Russian grain transit and if the plan gains traction, it could further reduce Russian exports.” Matthew Lucas at Total Farm Marketing said, “Russian grain exports through Baltic ports reached 1.4 MMT in September and are expected to increase to 1.8 MMT in October. Total Russian wheat exports were estimated at 2.5 MMT in September, with shipments forecast to rise to 3.0 MMT in October.”
