Lots of progress has been made in short order as farms push to make up for lost time following the wet September. Beans have become the center of attention for operations that have them in their rotation. The yield loss associated with combining soybeans at 8% moisture is something we all know well, so the push to get them done before they get too dry or before potential wet weather returns has operations in a rush to wrap up soybean harvest. I think most will finish their beans in the next week if Mother Nature plays nice. I haven’t heard much talk about yields yet, but whenever they do come up in conversation, one word follows each time: variable.
