Over 50 North Dakota FFA chapter members and more than 450 members gathered at the 96th Annual National FFA Convention, along with about 73,000 other members from across the nation, and competed in various contests, participated in National Days of Service for Indianapolis, and elected national officers.

The American Star Farmer was Daniel Jossund, who lives on the North Dakota/Minnesota border and is a member of the Ada-Borup-West FFA chapter in Ada, Minn. He attends NDSU and is working toward an agribusiness degree.
“I started this project because I grew up farming and always knew that I wanted to farm. My SAE consists of my baling business along with crop farming with my parents and brother. I make small square bales from 70 acres of my own alfalfa, 50 acres of custom hay, and 1,000 acres of straw from my parents’ wheat harvest,” Jossund said.
