Cover crops, which have grown in popularity over the last decade, are not new ideas nor a new soil health concept, but scientists are trying to find new ways of using cover crops, as well as new kinds that work well in our northern climate, according to James Rogers, NDSU Extension forage crops production specialist at NDSU’s North Central Research Extension Center (NCREC).
