Oilseed prices have continued to be strained by the Chinese tariffs on Canadian canola, the lack of any soybean exports to China, and from the continued uncertainty regarding biofuels. Growers are looking for any sign of relief in one of these problem areas. Canada did report that it had constructive dialogue with China over its tariff situation but did not report any breakthroughs on trade. MarketsFarm analyst Mike Jubinville reported that Chinese rapeseed meal futures fell 3.1 percent following the talks, possibly indicating the market may be getting positive signals on trade.
