We are losing daylight so quickly. During mid-summer, I can leave my house at 9 p.m. to run and have plenty of daylight. Now, it’s dark when I get up and dark by early evening. Fall is officially here. About 40-45 percent of Americans say fall is their favorite season, about 25 percent say summer or spring is their favorite, and 11 percent say winter is their favorite. Some of us are saying, “Yay!” to all that fall brings – sweaters, apple cinnamon scented candles, hearty soups, and pumpkin spice everything. The rest of us are saying, “Nay!” I fall (pun intended) into the latter. If you are like me, this time of year can bring feelings of low energy, feelings of sadness, and the wish to turn the calendar backward. There is an actual term for this experience. According to one expert, “autumn anxiety is the tendency for people to suffer from anxiety and low mood during the autumn months.”
