University of Wisconsin researchers are working to develop a multi-disciplinary approach to reduce methane emissions from dairy cattle. The cohort of geneticists, nutritionists and microbiologists are working together with experts at Michigan State University, Iowa State University, the University of Florida, the Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The goal is to address the elimination of methane emissions from dairy cattle using three complementary approaches.
