I have a deep connection with trees, something for which there are no human words. Jo and I are fortunate to live near the edge of a small forest. The trees are only about 20 yards from our balcony. I can sit in the living room of our town home in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and look out through the sliding glass doors at a host of trees – mature maples, basswoods, beeches, oaks, elms and ash. The sight lifts my soul. And when I walk among them, the energy is palpable.
