Neighbor David Schmidt brought trucks to haul the grain to the elevator. He helped Jim Redder on his farm for a number of years
Jim Redder had a soft spot for tradition. The Flandreau-area farmer championed agricultural history, hosting the South Dakota State Hand Corn picking contest for several years and hoping to one day see his farm selected for the national competition.
