As a convoy of semi-trucks loaded with donated hay rolled out of Kingsbury County, South Dakota, April 1, it carried more than feed. It carried a message of support for Nebraska ranchers facing devastating wildfire losses.
Residents line the streets of Lake Preston, S.D., to cheer on the Kingsbury County hay convoy as it heads south to Nebraska, escorted by local law enforcement.
Students line the fence outside their school to wave the convoy through town as the trucks pass by loaded with hay bound for Nebraska. "For kids, it shows that if you can help, help," said organizer Brad Sneesby.

A load of round bales rolls out of Kingsbury County with a message painted on the side: "SD 2 NEB." Ten semis carrying 300 bales made the roughly 400-mile trip to ranchers in the Nebraska Sandhills.
