In the true spirit of farm-to-table, a restaurant in one small South Dakota town is making its food with the soybeans local farmers deliver to the grain elevator next door.
New life was breathed into the old elevator when it was recommissioned for receiving Calyxt soybeans. The elevator in St. Lawrence, S.D., has been handling grain since 1926. The facility was updated in 1976 and 1983 and closed in 2018.
