As summer winds down and fall edges closer, there has been no shortage of work happening on farms around our area. Silage chopping has been one of the big jobs lately, and many farms have wrapped up for the season. After getting the silage chopped, we cover the piles with tarps and make sure that they are sealed tight to ensure the quality of the feed. I always like to think that finishing silage work marks an important step in preparing the farm for the changing seasons.
