When most think of renowned South Dakota sites, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse or the Corn Palace might come to mind.
Tamer Sharafeldin, veterinary pathologist at South Dakota State University’s Animal Disease Research and Diagnostics Laboratory (ADRDL), provided a tour of the state-of-the-art building during the South Dakota Governor’s Ag Summit June 23 in Brookings.
South Dakota State University’s Animal Disease Research and Diagnostics Laboratory opened a new building in 2019. The lab is well renowned around the world, said Tamer Sharafeldin veterinary pathologist and assistant professor.
The Animal Disease Research and Diagnostics Laboratory saw more than 26,000 cases and completed over half a million bacteriology, serology, microbiology and virology tests in 2021.
