Christmas is thought of as a time of Santa Claus, beautifully decorated trees, and gifts, but there is a much deeper-rooted history around the celebration. It originally began over 4,000 years ago in a little town of Bethlehem where a child was born. Jesus Christ came as a redemption for people and to re-establish a covenant between God and man. It has been celebrated, or not celebrated, in many ways ever since. However, Christmas now has become so commercialized that the real meaning of the celebration may be lost on us. The infancy story of Jesus may be found the Bible (Matthew 1, 1:25, and Matthew 2, 1:23).
