Rain makes grain, and we finally got a stretch of rainfall that put down 3-5 inches in multiple events across the area in the last 10-14 days. Silage acres are being taken out this week, and kernels and pods are stacking weight to finish out the crop. GDU calculations have us on track to black layer corn by Aug. 20 on the earliest corn and Aug. 30 for a good chunk of our area.
