It has been a balmy last couple weeks in our corner of the state. Being awakened by the sound of raindrops pounding on the windows in December was a bit unusual but a nice surprise. Even though the past year was better, the ground parched from the recent years of drought could use every little bit of moisture we can get.
Charlee Spickelmier has been spending time in the barn with her show cattle. She meticulously combs and brushes them while talking like she is visiting with lifelong friends, her mother said.
